Night crew landing in the composition of major Maciej Górkiewicz and second lieutenant Arkadiusz Madej at the airport in Powidz finished with the death of the crew. Task: A school flight in a shaded booth to learn how to pilot a plane according to the doubling devices according to exercise 112. Circumstances of the catastrophe: A disaster occurred at the airport in Powidz, during the landing of the Su-22 UM 3 K aircraft at NTWA. After the flight, the crew obtained the consent of the approaching controller to return to the airport. After landing the aircraft on the landing course, during the second incident, while looking for the runway in the conditions of rainfall and strong fog, the machine collided with the ground at a distance of 1 340 m from the beginning of the DS-2. The plane moved on the ground on the fuselage, cutting the trunks of the trees with wings. The leakage of the fuel system caused the plane to fire. The plane stopped at a distance of 163 m from the first trace of contact with the ground. The reason for the disaster was the wrong decision of the aircraft commander to perform a second landing in weather conditions below the minimum set for the crew, the airport and the aircraft. The airport controller, instead of sending the plane back to the alternate airfield, let the pilot land at his own airport.
