Aeroklub Nowotarski organizes various aviation events, including sightseeing flights. Sightseeing flights are organized with airplanes, powered sailplanes, gliders and hot air balloons.
On October 14, 2022, we had the opportunity to participate in a sightseeing flight with the Cessna C-172 Skyhawk, registration SP-ANT "Kanarek". As an aside, we mention that the PZL An-2 TD aircraft No. 1G98-64 once carried the SP-ANT registration. The Cessna C-172 plane was purchased by the Aero Club in Nowy Targ in July 2015. The plane was and is in very good technical condition.
Our flight took 30 minutes. The average flight speed was 200 km / h. The flight ceiling was about 900 m above ground. During this time, starting from the airport in Nowy Targ, we flew towards Zakopane, along the Polish part of the Tatra Mountains. Then a turn to the east, as far as Lake Czorsztyńskie. Then there was another turn towards the airport and landing. It is important that the weather was fine and the mountains were clearly visible.
The Cessna C-172 Skyhawk is a four-seater, single-engine high-wing aircraft. It is a popular training and training plane. More copies of the Cessna C-172 were produced than any other aircraft and is still in production.
