„NATO Days in Ostrava 2018”
The 2018 NATO Days military demonstrations in Ostrava, Czech Republic, were held on September 15-16, 2018. But a few days earlier, occasional meetings had already been held. Airships and weapons from land units were arriving. During the whole week the weather in Ostrava was very good. It was sunny and few clouds. Good weather brought thousands of spectators to the airport near Ostrava. The program was implemented in 100%.
Many planes had gangways from which you could see inside the planes. Thousands of viewers walked through the cargo bay of a Boeing C-17 cargo plane. Many people had the opportunity to sit in the cockpit of combat helicopters. Aircraft crews were eager to engage in discussions about their aircraft and their service.
Entry to the event is free. Paid car parks (you can pay in PLN, 20-25 zlotys). The organizers did not disappoint. Although, as in previous years, there was too little sanitary facilities, which were paid (possibility of paying in zlotys). There were many eateries with regional food, but no eateries were provided. Viewers ate standing up or looking for some free space on the grass.
