Emergency abandonment of a military aircraft.
Part 3.
Suchoj Su-7.
Suchoj Su-7 aircraft were used in Poland in the period from 1964 to 1990. The Suchoj Su-7 B / U aircraft use the KS-2 pilot’s seat (Kriesło Suchowo). The Sukhoi Su-7 KBŁ planes have a newer KS-4 seat. The general rules for ejecting were identical to those for the PZL Lim planes.
The recommended flight parameters for catapulting were as follows:
- Service ceiling 2,000 – 4,000 m.
- Speed 400 – 600 km / h.
Sequence of actions for catapulting:
- Switch on the "Danger" signal.
- Report the location via the radio.
- In the helmet, lower the light filter and close the tight helmet.
- Adopt the correct position in the chair (legs on the footrest, back pressed against the backrest, head pressed against the headrest, eyes closed, gasps, clenched teeth, tense muscles).
- The mechanism was activated by levers on the armrests. Only one handle needs to be initialized.
- The canopy cover should self-disengage. (version of the Su-7 BKŁ).
- If the cover is not rejected, drop it manually using the red handle on the starboard side. There are two overlapping mechanisms: one on the side and the other on the armrest. When both failed, the cover can be dropped with the standard (operational) opening on the port side.
The KS-2 armchair is more modern than the KK-1 or KK-2 armchair. It provides greater comfort and more activities happen automatically, without the intervention of a remote control.
It is possible to leave the Su-7 plane without using the KS-2 seat, but only if the seat does not work. Then you should:Reduce speed to 300-400 km / h.
- Switch the oxygen supply from the aircraft installation to the rescue system installation. To do this, pull the red pear-shaped handle.
- Use the yellow lever to open the additional locks on the seat harness.
- Turn the plane over on its back and sharply push the joystick away from you.
- For speeds> 400 km / h, open the parachute with a delay of at least 5 seconds and at an altitude of less than 5,000 m.
- At altitudes below 3,000 m, the parachute must be opened immediately.
