The 4th Training Aviation Wing was formed on October 14, 2008. The patron of the tactical union is Brigade General Pilot Witold Urbanowicz (since January 27, 2011). On December 31, 2009, the commemorative badge of the 4th Training Aviation Wing was introduced, and on April 18, 2011, the recognition badge of the 4th Training Aviation Wing was introduced. On October 14, 2011, the unit received the banner, and the unit’s holiday is celebrated on October 14. The command of the unit was placed in Dęblin.

Historically, the union was established by decision of the Minister of National Defense No. 47 of August 5, 2008. The 4th SLSzk included: Command of the 4th Training Aviation Wing in Dęblin (JW 4461). 41. Training Aviation Base named after major pil. Eugeniusz Horbaczewski "Dziubek" in Dęblin (JW 4929). 42. Training Aviation Base named after Capt. drink Franciszek Żwirka and Eng. Stanisław Wigura in Radom (JW 4938). Military Training and Conditioning Center in Zakopane. Center for Altitude – Rescue and Parachute Training in Poznań – Krzesiny.
