EM-10 Bielik in Nowy Targ.
The EM-10 Bielik is a training aircraft developed by Mr. Edward Margański. The plane is powered by a turbojet engine. In the Polish Military Aviation, the EM-10 Bielik was to replace the TS-11 "Iskra". The first flight was made on June 4, 2003. The test pilot was Mr. Wiesław Cena. The plane made two flights and work on it was suspended. The EM-10 Bielik is the first Polish turbojet aircraft developed by a private company.
This article is another text about the EM-10 Bielik plane, and the reason is the fact that the model of the plane was set up at the airport in Nowy Targ. The model of the EM-10 Bielik aircraft was donated as a deposit to the Nowy Targ Aero Club by the Polish Aviation Museum in Krakow. The plane was placed on three columns in the square next to the car park. Next to the plane, there is a plaque with the history of this construction.
On August 19, 2022, the official unveiling of the monument plane took place. The ceremony from Bielsko Biała was attended by Mr. MSc. Edward Margański, who was the main designer and originator of this aircraft. Mr. Edward Margański is an outstanding and well-known figure in the Polish aviation community. He is the creator of such aircrafts as the amateur plane DK-3 "Kasia", the tourist plane EM-11 Orka or the high-performance aerobatic gliders MDM – 1 Fox and Swift S-1, which are still the world leader in their class. Mr. Edward Margański during his lecture presented the history of the development of "Bielik", which was very turbulent and interesting. He also did not hide his appreciation for the work that was put into the renovation of the exhibit, which from now on will be the pride of the Nowy Targ Airport. The exhibit was renovated thanks to the involvement of the club members who spent many weeks working on a return to an exhibition condition in their free time. The plane in Nowy Targ is the same model that, since 2002, has been presented at the Polish Aviation Museum in Krakow. At that time, the plane was white.
