The Nowy Targ Air Picnic is an event that enjoys great interest – both among the residents of Podhale and tourists. Over the years, air shows held at the most beautifully located airport in Poland have become an attractive showcase of Nowy Targ and one of the most important events of the summer. This was the thirteenth edition of the Nowy Targ Air Picnic, which took place on July 6-7, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This year’s show in Nowy Targ must be considered a great success. The weather was great, and above all, the spectators. It is estimated that there were about 30,000 spectators over the two days. The event organizers aspire to make the Nowy Targ Air Picnic the largest aviation event in Southern Poland. Especially since there have been no air shows in Bielsko-Bia\u0142a (Aleksandr\u00f3w airport) and Katowice (Muchowiec airport) for several years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Nowy Targ Show gathers very good pilots flying individually and in teams, on various types of aircraft, from Poland and abroad. The main organizer of the event was the Aeroklub Nowotarski. The organizers provided parking spaces for the public on a designated part of the take-off field. For those arriving by car, there was also the possibility of parking in the City of Nowy Targ and a 10-minute walk through the meadows and along the footbridge over the Bia\u0142y Dunajec River to the Airport. Many spectators arrived on bicycles and motorcycles. Admission to the event was free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The show featured numerous stalls, company stands, food stands, an amusement park for children, youth and slightly older people. As every year, there was a stage where bands performed and competitions were held. Toilets and a medical point were not forgotten. Heavy equipment was demonstrated by the Polish Army.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
