The plane was on the final landing straight at the 23rd Tactical Air Base Airport in Mi\u0144sk Mazowiecki. The plane disappeared from the radar screens.<\/p>\n
The plane was piloted by a 28-year-old officer. He had over 400 hours of flight time, including over 200 hours on MiG-29 aircraft. The pilot had valid aero-medical examinations and had the necessary qualifications and permits to fly.<\/p>\n
The plane touched down in a young forest cutting down trees like a scythe. It was about 8,000 meters to the RWY threshold. The pilot did not catapult. He left the plane on his own.<\/p>\n
According to unofficial information, the reason could be the pilot’s error, who badly planned the approach to RWY, or lack of fuel. MiG-29 flights were suspended, but resumed relatively quickly (January 5, 2018). Rapid resumption of flights may indicate a pilot error by the pilot.
