The chapel is located in Terminal B, on the second floor in the public area. The chapel was consecrated on May 21, 2009, by the Bishop Ordinary of the Diocese of Sosnowiec, Grzegorz Kaszak. Holy masses are celebrated in the chapel on Sundays and obligatory holidays at 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. An additional Holy Mass for organized groups is also possible after prior arrangement. The chapel is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.<\/p>\n In 2010, there were two terminals at the airport; Terminal A and Terminal B. In the first Terminal there were only check-ins for passengers to countries outside the Schengen group. Terminal B was departures and arrivals. At this time, Terminal C has already been planned and will only be the arrival terminal. Travelers have at their disposal: restaurant, bar, summer cafe, hotel, currency exchange office, pharmacy, car rental, bank, jeweler, newsagents, bookstore.<\/p>\n Access to the airport is provided by public transport. From Bytom, Airport bus No. 85 and No. 53, from Mierz\u0119cice, Airport bus No. 17, from \u015awierklaniec Park, bus No. 142, and from Katowice, Airport Bus. The bus from Katowice to the airport leaves 10 times a day. The journey time is 50 minutes. Access is also provided by PKS on the Tarnowskie G\u00f3ry PKP Railway Station – Pyrzowice Airport – Zawiercie PKS Railway Station route. Transport to the airport is also provided by private carriers using buses. Of course, you can travel to and from the airport by TAXI or private car. Private cars are often parked not only in terminal parking lots, but also on the private properties of people living near the airport. Such a dozen or so days of parking costs much less than an official parking lot, and the car is safe.<\/p>\n Distance to the airport in Mierz\u0119cice: Bielsko Bia\u0142a 100 km, Bytom 23 km, Chorz\u00f3w 38 km, Cz\u0119stochowa 60 km, Gliwice 40 km, Katowice 34 km, Krak\u00f3w 100 km, \u0141\u00f3d\u017a 170 km, Opole 100 km, Ostrawa 115 km, Sosnowiec 20 km , Tarnowskie G\u00f3ry 18 km, Warsaw 270 km, Wroc\u0142aw 200 km, Zabrze 40 km, Zakopane 200 km.<\/p>\n Fast railway connections between the airport and agglomeration centers are a natural complement to air transport of any airport, even a regional one. Depending on the studies, it is assumed that a rail connection between the airport and the cities becomes justified and profitable when the traffic volume exceeds 2 million passengers. Pyrzowice Airport served approximately two million passengers in 2007. Plans for 2008 assumed approximately 2.6 million passengers. This volume of traffic, as well as the positioning of the Katowice airport as not only a business airport, but also the center of charter traffic in southern Poland, makes the launch of a railway connection not only a matter of making the airport more attractive, but also an undertaking necessary for its further development.<\/p>\n At the airport, this process can be solved by the renovation of the railway line on the Tarnowskie G\u00f3ry – Mierz\u0119cice – \u0141azy\/Zawiercie section. This would open the way to launching a high-speed train to the center of the agglomeration and other cities in southern Poland, as well as to expanding the capacity to clear freight through the airport. Importantly, the Mierz\u0119cice – Zawiercie (\u0141azy) line is a section of the former Zawiercie – Tarnowskie G\u00f3ry line. In the second stage, restoring its route on the Mierz\u0119cice – Tarnowskie G\u00f3ry section (the tracks and viaducts have been dismantled) and increasing the permissible speeds on the line from Tarnowskie G\u00f3ry to Bytom and then Katowice or Gliwice will allow for connecting the airport with both sides of the GOP region. It will therefore be possible to organize a circular traffic of a pair of high-speed trains from GOP towns to the airport and to recreate local traffic from Tarnowskie G\u00f3ry to Zawiercie. Of course, this involved making some investments. First of all, the construction of a railway stop in the area of the planned Terminal C. The estimated investment cost should not exceed PLN 100 million. Unfortunately. 2010 has already passed, and the topic of a fast (80-120 km\/h) rail bus to the airport has not made any progress. The existing railway infrastructure is deteriorating.<\/p>\n There is a Mierz\u0119cice Zawiercia\u0144skie railway station in Mierz\u0119cice. It is located on the railway line No. 182 Zawiercie – Tarnowskie G\u00f3ry, and strictly between the Siewierz – O\u017carowice stations. The Mierz\u0119cice Zawiercia\u0144skie railway station has several railway sidings. They bring railway wagons to several places in the Mierz\u0119cice area. Currently, there is no passenger traffic on railway line No. 182.<\/p>\n In July 2012, an aircraft maintenance base was opened at the Pyrzowice Airport. The investor of the facility was GTL, and the user is Linetech Aircraft Maintenance. The basic facility is a hangar, which measures 80 m x 99 m at the base, has an area of 7,920 square meters, is over 14 meters high and has a volume of almost 111,000 cubic meters. The hangar can accommodate two D-type aircraft or four C-type aircraft at the same time. The certificate authorizing such activity was issued by the CAA (Civil Aviation Office). B 737 (variants from 300 to 900), A 320 (variants 318, 319, 320, 321), ATR 42, ATR 72, Embraer ERJ 135, 145, 170 and 190 are renovated here.<\/p>\n Pyrzowice International Airport has been recognized and awarded many times in various fields in recent years. Here are some of them; Transparent Company Certificate, Golden Statuette of the Polish Business Leader, Black Diamond for the Caesar of Silesian Business statuette, Quality International Quality Forum 2008, \u015al\u0105ska Rzecz 2007, Company Close to the Environment, Golden Laurel of Skills and Competences, Laureate of the Forbes monthly Ranking, Quality International Quality Forum 2007, Medal European 2007, Company of the year 2006 in Silesia. But let’s not be surprised by this.
