Many Cracovians also know that the airport in Balice named after John Paul II can be conveniently reached by train, in 15 minutes from the Krak\u00f3w G\u0142\u00f3wny railway station. But few Cracovians know that in the Second Polish Republic, it was possible to get to the Rakowice-Czy\u017cyny airport by train.<\/p>\n<p><figure class=\"alignleft\">                    <img decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"https:\/\/images.polot.net\/a9c6f97dd5ebad3c5057220befead5019dc41975\" src=\"https:\/\/images.polot.net\/a9c6f97dd5ebad3c5057220befead5019dc41975\" alt=\"Trail No. 111. 2021. The work by Karol Placha Hetman<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Generally, buses from Ma\u0142y Rynek ran to the Rakowice &#8211; Czy\u017cyny airport. But it was also possible to travel by train. At that time, the railway network in Krakow looked different. The train departed from the Krak\u00f3w G\u0142\u00f3wny station, through the Krak\u00f3w Grzeg\u00f3rzki station, along the non-existent track: Krak\u00f3w Wieczysta, Krak\u00f3w Czy\u017cyny and further: Bie\u0144czyce, Gr\u0119ba\u0142\u00f3w, Prusy to Kocmyrz\u00f3w. Even before the Great World War, a railway branch was built in Czy\u017cyny: Czy\u017cyny Monopol (tobacco) and to the Mogi\u0142a (Cistercian monastery).
