Currently, Leszno is a city that is developing calmly and systematically. After difficult years of transformation, Leszno found its new character. It is a city of difficult history, monuments and greenery. After the construction of the road no. S5 Poznań - Wrocław, Leszno, trucks stopped running over. The buildings of the fallen workplaces find their new purpose. They are, for example, adapted into hotels.

In March 2010, the modernization of the railway junction in Leszno began, which is now (2021) almost completed. At the beginning, the station building was modernized, the overall shape of which has not changed. The outer façade has been given a new, attractive appearance. Large areas of the outer walls were finished with brick-colored ceramic lining. The biggest changes were made in the interior. Architectural barriers for the disabled have disappeared. The number of cash desks has been reduced, but wheelchair cash registers have appeared. Ticket machines, ATMs and CDMs have been installed. New granite floors were laid, modern automatic doors were installed. There is a viewing point on the first floor. After modernization, the station building was opened on January 30, 2012. The usable area is currently 2,482.9 m2. The cost of the investment is approximately PLN 13,700,000.
