The railway symbol of the city of Oława is the fact that the Wrocław - Oława railway line was the first railway line in Lower Silesia. The first train traveled this route on May 22, 1842. The trail was built by the Upper Silesian Railway Society. The line continued through Gliwice to Mysłowice and further to the Austrian Partition, through Trzebinia to Kraków.
