Description of the Boeing C-17 structure.

The Boeing C-17 Globemaster III is the USAF’s basic heavy transport aircraft. It has the possibility of an intercontinental flight and landing on a makeshift landing field. The Lockheed C-141 Starlifter and Lockheed C-5 Galaxy aircraft do not have this option. They require the use of permanent airports. The C-141 aircraft takes on board a large number of soldiers, but light vehicles. The hold is large, but narrow and low. The tank does not fit. The C-5 impresses with its carrying capacity, but requires a long RWY (DS).

Boeing C-17 Globemaster III made its first flight on September 15, 1991. From 1993, he entered service with the USAF. The Boeing C-17 Globemaster III is an aircraft that has proven itself in numerous conflicts around the world. The C-17 entered service in the USA, UK, Australia (4 since 2006), Canada, Qatar, and NATO. In 2010, there were 211 C-17s in service.
