The 3rd Transport and Liaison Aviation Squadron in Wrocław was established in May 1999, as Unit 3242. The unit was formed on the basis of the 44th Aviation Squadron and the 11th DWLOP Squadron (Air Defense Air Force Command). The first commander of the unit was lieutenant colonel pilot Zbigniew Bałowski. The unit was operationally subordinated to the 3rd Transport Aviation Brigade. The unit had PZL An-2 planes and PZL Mi-2 and Mil Mi-8 helicopters in stock.

In April 2007, the 3rd Transport and Liaison Aviation Squadron was subordinated to the 3rd Transport Aviation Brigade.

In 2010, the 3rd Transport and Liaison Aviation Squadron was disbanded.

Squadron commanders: Lt. Col. pilot Zbigniew Bałowski (1999 – 2002), major pilot Marian Lisiecki (2002 – 2008), major pilot Aleksander Gorzula (2008 – 2010).
