Until 2000, the 7th Fighter-Bomber Regiment, equipped with Sukhoi Su-22 combat aircraft, was stationed at the airport in Powidz. Then the airport in Powidz was renamed the Transport Aviation Base, where Lockheed C-130 Hercules transport planes are stationed.
