Szymanów Airport is an airport belonging to the Aeroclub of Wrocław. It is 13 km from the airport to the center of Wrocław, although the city border is the border of the airport. The airport lies north of the city center.

The patron of the Wrocław Aeroclub is colonel pilot Bolesław Orliński – a Polish military, sports and experimental pilot, who was awarded the Silver Cross of the Virtuti Militari Order. The flying club was founded in the second half of 1945, just after the end of the Second World War and the arrival of the first settlers. Initially, the Aeroclub occupied the Gądów airport in Wrocław. From 1946, at the Gądów airport, the Aeroclub and PPL LOT operated together. In 1958, PLL LOT was moved to the Strachowice airport. In 1983, the Aero Club of Wrocław was moved to a new airport in Szymanów. The Gąd airport has been liquidated.

Wrocław – Szymanów airport performs civil and sports functions. The airport received the ICAO code – EPWS. The airport has a ground landing field, where two RWYs have been designated; The first RWY with dimensions of 700 m x 100 m, which is located in the direction of 14/32. The second RWY with dimensions of 560 m x 100 m, in the direction of 11/29. The first RWY is equipped with lights that are radio activated and turn off after 30 minutes. Calling "Szmanów RADIO", frequency 124.115 MHz.

The airport has a triangular shape. The Widawa River flows nearby. In the south-western part of the Szymanów airport there are two hangars, with an area of 3,500 m2 and 5,500 m2, and five smaller hangars. Near the hangars there is a parachute pool, the so-called "Swoop pond", measuring 80 m × 20 m. There is a service station at the airport and AVGAS 100LL aviation fuel and UL91 unleaded petrol are available. Guest rooms can accommodate groups of up to 40 people. There is a bar at the airport during the season. At the entrance to the airport, a PZL TS-11 Iskra aircraft was placed as a monument.
