„NATO Days in Ostrava 2021”.
NATO Days military demonstrations in Ostrava, Czech Republic in 2021, took place on September 18-19, 2021. But a few days earlier, occasional meetings had already been held. Airships and weapons from land units were arriving. Objectively, there were fewer planes, helicopters and ground force equipment at the event than in previous years. However, there was a lot to talk about and we consider the event rich and well prepared. Every day the event lasted from 08:00 to 18:30. The weather was not perfect, but all the points of the program were realized. It wasn’t raining, but it was chilly; Saturday to 14 degrees Celsius, Sunday to 11 degrees Celsius. Initially, it was 100% cloudy, so that in the afternoon even the sun broke through. The grass at the airport was wet almost all the time. But there was no wind.
18 countries took part in the event, 92 aircraft were presented, and the air shows lasted a total of 19 hours. The Saturday and Sunday program only differed in the final accent. On Saturday, the event ended with a show of five Swedish aircraft production: SAAB J-32 Lansen, SAAB J-35 Draken, SAAB J-37 Viggen and two JAS-39 Gripen (Czech and Hungarian). On Sunday, however, there was a joint flight of six helicopters: Mil Mi-24/35, Mil Mi-171, PZL W-3A Sokół, UH-60 Black Hawk, AS332 Super Puma and Agusta AW109.
